WMA 3000 Motion Alert

The WMA-3000 is the next step in the evolution of the driveway alarm. Our supplier has taken their years of experience and created the ultimate in wireless systems. The transmitter operates on one 9-volt battery and is easily mounted on a tree or post near the drive. The transmitter uses a passive infrared (PIR) beam to detect people or vehicles to a distance of up to 24 metres (80 feet), then sends a radio signal back to the WR-3000 receiver up to approx 900 metres away (3000 feet)*.

The green coloured transmitter is fully weather proof and meant for exterior locations. It even has an internal aerial, one less thing to break off. Up to four zones can be monitored with additional transmitters. The transmitters can be programmed so they will each sound a different tone at the receiver.

The WR-3000 is the receiver for the WMA-3000 system. The WR-3000 plugs into a standard wall outlet and can be placed on a table or mounted on the wall. When the receiver gets a signal from the transmitter, one of four different tones (Classical, Westminster Chime, Ding Dong, or Whistle) will sound for a few seconds. There is also a volume control, allowing you to set the sound to the desired level.

The WR-3000 is equipped with four relays (one for each zone), and one 12-volt DC output terminal that will activate for several seconds when a signal is received. The receiver can be user-programmed, so the 12-volt DC terminal and one relay will activate for 10 minutes, if this is desired. The tones will still sound for several seconds.

Range

Actual range may vary depending on the local terrain. The best situation is where the transmitter can be seen from the receiver. This is what we call line of sight. Elevation of the receiver also increases the range. Metal objects such as colour steel buildings will reduce the range however non-metallic objects like trees etc will have little effect. It is best practice to try and locate the transmitter and receiver as close together as possible (as the crow flies). We sell a lot of alerts via word of mouth, so it is important to us that the unit works well for you. Every site is different and it is impossible for us to predict how the units will perform, so if you encounter difficulty please give us a call on 0800 14 48 65. For extra peace of mind we also offer a right of return. Try the unit for a month and if you are not happy simply return the alarm for a refund. This is really the only way to find out for sure. All it will cost you is the freight. The alarm must be unmarked and returned with the original packing materials and operator manuals. Colour of transmitter may vary to those shown on the website.

WPA 3000 Probe Alert

The WPA-3000 is an extremely reliable driveway alarm that is used to detect vehicles only. The transmitter operates on one 9-volt battery and has 15 metres (50 feet ) of direct burial wire connecting the probe to the exterior case.

The probe is buried parallel to the driveway, and will detect vehicles passing by within approximately 3.5 metres (10-12 feet). The direct burial cable can be run to a tree or post nearby, where the transmitter box is located. When a vehicle drives by, the transmitter will send a signal to the WR-3000 receiver up to 900 metres (3,000 feet) away*. The WPA-3000 is ideal in locations where there may be cattle or other large animals that would cause false signals with a motion detecting system. Also, because the probe is buried underground, it will be the least noticeable of our wireless systems. The transmitter is weatherproof and meant for exterior locations. Up to four zones can be monitored with additional transmitters. The transmitters can be programmed so they will each sound a different tone at the receiver.

You can mix the systems. For instance you could have a motion alert covering a pedestrian area and a probe alert on a driveway both sending to the same receiver, with a different chime for each sensor. You can have up to a total of four transmitters per receiver.

WRH 3000 Rubber Hose Alert

The only difference between this alert and the Motion Alerts above is that this one only detects vehicles. When a vehicle drives over the durable rubber hose a signal is sent back to the receiver. Range again is about 900 metres line of sight, and it can be used in conjunction with our other alerts. This unit is very popular with owners of plant nurseries for instance, who place them across their driveways to detect customers arriving. This drive alert consists of 2 parts - a radio-operated transmitter with 7.5 metres of 10mm diameter exterior type rubber hose to lay across your driveway and 1 receiver as described in the sections above.

The weatherproof outside transmitter, which is operated by a 9-volt battery, should be attached to a post or tree next to the driveway. The hose can be replaced should a cut or break occur, but it should last for many years under normal conditions.

Several rubber hose transmitters can be used with the same receiver. For example, you may have 2 driveways into your property. You can also have extra receivers for additional locations such as a shed or shop.

Portable Receiver 3000 (PR-3000)

The PR-3000 is a very small receiver that is compatible with any of our 3000 series transmitters. The first thing you notice about the PR-3000 is its small size. The receiver is only 63mm x 30mm x 20mm. The other thing you will notice is the LCD display. The PR-3000 is capable of receiving and storing alert signals from up to four zones. Each zone can store up to 400 events with a time and date stamp (American format, month, day, year). In addition, each zone can store up to 999 total events without a time and date stamp. With the counter function you will know when a monitor was activated.

The PR-3000 is also a very portable receiver. With the small size and rechargeable battery you can take the PR-3000 everywhere you go. The rechargeable Li-ion battery will hold a charge for up to 10 days. In addition to the LCD display the PR-3000 will also give an audible tone for each zone, and a vibrate alert for times when you need the receiver to be silent.

The PR-3000 will be a perfect accessory for a small home based business that is trying to monitor customer traffic. The business owner can be completely mobile, yet be notified if a customer approaches the monitored area. This will work well for businesses, such as convenience stores, nurseries, motels or any situation where someone is not monitoring the front door or driveway entrance.

Wireless PIR Sensor (IR-3000)

The IR-3000 has a wireless range of up to 900 metres (3000 feet) and is fully compatible with any of the 3000 series motion alerts and receivers.

The passive infra-red detector is able to monitor an area up to 100 degrees wide. With the integral mask, the detection can be narrowed down to 20 degrees or anywhere in between. With the swivel mount the IR-3000 can be adjusted right or left, up or down. The IR -3000 has three sensitivity settings and can detect a person up to 3.5m, 7m or 12m away. The sensor can also be set to flash an LED or stay dark when a signal is sent.

The IR-3000 is powered by a 9 volt battery and it will have a battery life of about 12 months (Eveready alkaline) under normal conditions. There is also a low battery alert to notify you when it is time to change the battery. The IR-3000 is designed for indoor or light duty outdoor applications where it is protected from the weather.

Universal Transmitter 3000

The UT-3000 is a simple to use universal transmitter. It has a wireless range of up to 900 metres (3000 feet) and is fully compatible with any of the 3000 series motion alerts and receivers.

The UT-3000 operates on a 9 volt battery and has several different methods of activation. First the UT-3000 has a pushbutton that can be used as a panic button or doorbell button. The UT-3000 also has terminals for either normally open or normally closed input. These inputs can be used with any detector contacts so you can now use the 3000 system to monitor a pump, water tank etc. It is ideal for situations that are difficult to wire.

In about 98% of cases our WMA 3000 system works well. However sometimes because of location the motion sensor method of detection may give false alarms. False alarms are mainly due to livestock being present beyond the sensor (sensor can "see" up to 30 metres or more) or lots of birds flying in the sensor range, especially if the sun is shining on them. If you think you have a similar situation, then you might like to consider the infra-red beam system.

The infra-red beam system provides an extremely reliable detection system with no false alarms. Unlike similar systems, the alignment of the sensors is not super critical. For instance, on some competitor systems, a slight movement in the emitter on the opposite side of the driveway leads to system failure. This can be caused by something as simple as a post moving due to the ground being wet or dry. Our system is not affected by this small movement.

Quality built in
Beware, everything looks good in the brochure and when it come out of the box. Unfortunately a lot of people only find out what they have really purchased months later. Our infra-red system uses enclosures that are weatherproof to the IP66 standard. Brackets are aluminium, and the machine screws and nuts are stainless steel ( not plated) so there is no rust. The rechargeable batteries inside the emitter and transmitter are metal hydride as opposed to nickel cadmium and are charged by the sun via solar modules. Metal hydrides are a lot more expensive than NiCads, but they have no memory effect, so they last a lot longer.

Technology built in
The outgoing beam is pulsed rapidly and to get a valid intrusion the beam must be broken for about 20 successive pulses, about a quarter of a second. This eliminates the chance of a false alarm.

Frequently asked questions:
How wide can my driveway be?
The beams will transmit up to 60 metres but reliability declines with distance. The alignment becomes more critical at greater distances.

Will sunlight affect the sensors?
No, but strong low angle sunlight shining directly into the sensors should be avoided.

Where do I put the solar panels?
The solar panels are small, about he size of a cigarette box so are easily concealed. Panels must be in as much sun as possible on an angle facing true north.

How long can my driveway be?
The transmission range can be up to 700 metres line of sight. This means that the transmitter and receiver can "see "each other. The closer the better. Note. The alert system does not have to be at your entrance. Most people have a driveway fenced both sides so having the detector half way down the driveway will still detect intruders as they can not turn around.

Does it come with a money back guarantee?
